Our Origin

Our Mission

While he was a Master's aerospace engineering student at the Ohio State University, Alexandru Crisan, dedicated his research to focus on his passion of fully-electric jet engines. After being awarded a Honda research grant for sustainable aviation, he worked on understanding the design of an induction heated core which could be used in place of a combustion chamber. He realized that there was little existing research in the field, and after graduating decided to found Andromeda Aerospace to lay the foundations for more advanced fully-electric jet engines research.

The primary purpose for Andromeda Aerospace is the development of a sustainable future for the aerospace industry, primarily focusing on the development of fully-electric jet engines. Without a direct replacement for conventional jet engines that offers the same speed and thrust capabilities, expecting the industry to adopt electrification is generally unreasonable. Through the replacement of all components of a conventional jet engine with electric counterparts, a much higher efficiency can be achieved for thrust productions when compared to conventional jet engines. Currently Andromeda Aerospace is in early stages of development, seeking opportunities to develop full prototype engines in the 60-200N thrust range. A ground test engine has been in development utilizing a centrifugal compressor.
